Adjunct Faculty Positions (Human Resource Management)

The School of Business and Technology at Capella University is seeking adjunct faculty for online teaching positions. The School offers seven graduate degrees: MS in Human Resource Management, MS in Organizational Development, MS in Organization and Management, MS in Technology, MBA, PhD in Organization and Management, and PhD in Information Technology. Several specializations are available in each degree program. In all programs, we seek faculty who are accomplished scholars and practitioners and who have an earned doctoral degree.

Currently, we are seeking applications for two specializations in the MS in Human Resource Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Industrial and Labor Relations Specialization
  • Capella University offers one of the few online opportunities to earn a master's degree specializing in Industrial and Labor Relations. This master's degree offers a foundational understanding of the factors influencing the relationships between employees and organizations, including theories and best practices for today's global workplace.

    We are seeking faculty with expertise in the following areas.

    • Human Resources and Labor Relations
    • Unionism and American Culture
    • Labor Law and Legislation
    • Labor Management
    • Comparative Labor Movements
    • Labor and Globalization
  • Legal Studies Specialization
  • Capella's master's in Human Resource Management - Legal Studies provides a unique opportunity for an advanced HR degree focused on employment and labor law.

    We are seeking faculty with expertise in the following areas.

    • Human Resource Management and the Law
    • Building the Law
    • Rights of Wrongs: Torts and Employment
    • The Attorney Relationship
    • Workplace Legal Actions
    • Legal Systems: Countries in Contrast

    Qualifications:

    • PhD in Business, DBA or other relevant doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution with emphasis in the specialization area.
    • SPHR or relevant certification preferred.
    • College level teaching experience of 2 to 3 years or more; on-line teaching experience preferred.
    • Significant practitioner experience in a corporate or consulting environment or its equivalent.
    • Demonstration of scholarly or practitioner contributions at industry and/or academic conferences in the area of expertise.
    • Evidence of supporting learner success and a commitment to teaching in an online environment.
    • For the PhD program, experience mentoring and supervising graduate level research preferred.
