Engagement Representatives - Academic Advising (multiple)

Engagement Representatives in Academic Advising are responsible for making outbound calls to learners in order to connect them to their Academic Advisor and assist them with course registration. This individual, through outbound phone, calls will assist the learner with processing their course registration request and when appropriate transfer them to their Academic Advisor or schedule a follow up appointment. Engagement Representatives may also periodically assist learners and transfer to our Learner Support Team for resolution of non-academic questions.

In addition to outbound dialing, Engagement Representatives will be responsible for managing and updating information in a database system. While this person will not own the relationship with the learner, he or she must provide excellent customer service consistent with our brand. This is a position which will require a high degree of drive, flexibility, and organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Calling learners to set up appointments with their Academic Advisor and/or transferring to an Academic Advisor when appropriate.
  • Process learner course registrations
  • Support any cross-functional needs
  • Meeting established objectives for calling and transfer metric
  • Follow-up calls and tracking of critical documents: transcripts, change of program documents, etc.
  • Data entry-related projects
  • Other administrative tasks to be assigned

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or commensurate experience; bachelor's degree a plus
  • 1-3 years of phone based customer service; outbound call center experience preferred.
  • Solid computer / MS Office / e-mail experience; experience with customer-tracking software applications and data entry preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills
  • Displayed success at meeting and exceeding goals
  • High level of enthusiasm, drive and determination
  • Excellent communication, investigation and listening skills
  • Self motivated and organized to remain focused on objectives
  • Time management skills to multi-task a variety of activities including outbound calling and data management

This position requires working two days per week from 10:30am-7:30pm with possibility of weekends shifts.

This position is based in Capella's corporate headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota and relocation assistance is not provided.
