Capella Education Company selects Sally Chial as new head of human resources


MINNEAPOLIS, August 1, 2007Capella Education Company (www.capellaeducation.com) (NASDAQ: CPLA), a provider of exclusively online education through its wholly owned subsidiary Capella University (www.capella.edu), an online university based in Minneapolis, has announced that it has hired Sally Chial as its new head of human resources. Chial will begin in her new role as Vice President of Human Resources at Capella on August 29, 2007, when she will assume responsibility for all human resources and training & professional development functions. She will also be a member of Capella's Executive Leadership Team. Capella Education Company currently has more than 1000 administrative staff and 940 faculty members.

Most recently Chial was a senior leader for Cargill, Inc.'s organizational effectiveness discipline, where she designed, developed, and implemented global talent management strategies. Her more than 25 years of human resources and administrative leadership experience also includes BRW Inc., the Minnesota Department of Transportation, and the City of Roseville.
